Here's everything I'm loving for spring
All the spring vibes to celebrate the start of spring and my birthday!
For me, the spring season kicks off on my birthday! Which just happens to be today! Happy spring and happy birthday to me!
Spring and fall are tied for my favorite seasons but for two completely different reasons. While fall feels comforting and reflective, spring feels energizing and renewing. It’s time to touch grass, spend afternoons at the park, go to the farmer’s market, and get creative!
To celebrate, I’m sharing everything on my vision board for spring, from my style inspo to what I’m reading this season.

What’s on my TBR list
How I’m getting outside more this spring
When it comes to spring fashion, I’m all about feeling breezy and comfortable. I want to run in grass fields and feel the cool air on my skin. I love wearing happy, pastel colors that make me feel feminine and motivated. Keep scrolling for the staples in my spring wardrobe and how to get the look.
The Boxer Short
These are the ultimate spring shorts. They are so comfortable, easy to throw on, and will add color and interest to your outfit. For an elevated casual look, pair it with a white tee, sneakers, and a necklace stack. You can also add a cardigan, crewneck, or denim button-down if you want to add another layer for windy mornings.
Get the look:
Walmart, $8: I stocked up on boxer shorts from Walmart! They are so cute and are great quality, and you just can’t beat the price. I got the green gingham and the striped blue shorts.
American Eagle, $20: I have my eye on the pink and red shorts! Reviewers say they aren’t see-through and that they love the fit. I love the waistband detail.
Target, $18: I love the scalloped trim on these boxer shorts from Target. You might also like these if you’re searching for a pair with buttons.
The Oversized Button Down
The oversized button-down has been a staple in my closet for quite a few years now. You can easily find button-downs at the thrift store: Browse in the men’s section and go a size or two up for the “I just stormed my husband’s closet” look.
Get the look:
Old Navy, $18: I have the blue striped button-down from Old Navy and it has lasted for two years now (and I wear it all the time!) Plus, it’s on sale right now. Note: I would not recommend getting the linen version of this shirt, as I got it last year and after one wash, the fabric began fraying.
Aerie, $41: I love just about everything Aerie makes. I find it holds up well and I love how most of their stuff is already made oversized for comfort. This button-down from them comes in lots of colors and is on sale right now.
Everything Denim
Quality denim will last a LONG time and that is why I believe in investing in good denim. This does not mean you have to spend a lot of money. The BEST denim in my closet has come from thrift stores, estate sales, or has been passed down. It’s really not hard to find quality denim at the thrift, so if you want to get this look & don’t want to spend half a paycheck, I recommend looking there first.
Get the look:
Denim button-down, Ralph Lauren, $198: As aforementioned, I love button-downs, and my Ralph Lauren denim button-down that I snagged at an estate sale is a staple in my wardrobe. You can get a less-expensive version at Old Navy for $31.
Jeans, American Eagle, $45: If I were to buy new jeans, I’d probably go for this pair of high-waisted wide-leg jeans from American Eagle.
What does it mean to live a leisurely life? Check out last week’s Leisurely newsletter to find out.
I am soooo excited about my spring TBR list!!!
I am currently reading three books right now (does anyone else read more than one book at the same time?) I’m listening to Love & Other Words by Christina Lauren and reading Why Has Nobody Told Me This Before? by Dr. Julie Smith (a great book on life tools) and Iron Flame by Rebecca Yarros.
I was a little slow to hop on the Fourth Wing train so I’m very excited to continue reading this series. I’m also reading through the Harry Potter series for the first time :) (Haha, I know, I’m late to that bandwagon too.)
I have been listening to more of Mel Robbins lately and am dying to pick up her book, The Let Them Theory. If you want a good deep dive into her “Let Them” theory you can listen to her podcast on it. I also recently watched the episode of Khloe in Wonderland with Mel Robbins as a guest and it was incredible, so I highly recommend giving it a watch too.
My goal for spring? To be outside and touch grass as often as possible.
Here are a few things I’m going to do this spring to be outside more:
Go to the park: My husband and I are planning to go to different parks in our area to walk, read, have picnics, paint, and just be outside.
Sit on a patio: Whether it be working at a coffee shop or eating at a restaurant, I’m going to be sitting on the patio more often.
Go to a berry & flower farm: My husband and I did this a couple of years ago and we loved it. We made a delicious cobbler from the blackberries we picked, and made a bouquet from the flowers we cut.
Hike & be by the water: I’d love to go to a state park or nature reserve soon and be out in nature. I’m also eyeing a late spring day trip to the beach.
Go to the farmer’s market: My goal is to purchase my produce at the farmer’s market more regularly. Plus, there's nothing quite like wandering through the market with a coffee in hand.
How are you getting outside this spring? I’d love to know. Also, please drop in the comments what’s on your spring TBR list! Thank you so much for reading this week’s Leisurely newsletter.
If you like what you're reading and want to support what I’m doing, feel free to buy me a coffee. Your support means the world to me.
I loved "Love and Other Words"—I hope you do too! :) (I like a lot of Christina Lauren's books.) I (tragically) haven't had much time to read recently, but my current TBR list is mostly books already on my shelf that I've just never gotten around to (such as "The Grand Affair," a biography of John Singer Sargent, and "The Lioness of Boston," a sort of biographical novel about Isabella Stewart Gardner—both of whom I love, but neither of which I've even touched...). However, I have a feeling I'll just end up returning to my well-worn fantasy favorites, lol...
Saving this because I cannot even tell you how much it’s inspired me!!! And gotten me excited for spring ☺️
